A Journal of the Plague Year Exhibit

Client: ASU School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies & Arizona Historical Society

Role: Graphic Designer

Brief: Translate a digital archive of thousands of COVID-19 testimonials into a 36-banner traveling exhibit. The goal was to transform dense, crowdsourced data into an accessible, emotionally resonant physical experience.

The primary challenge was managing thousands of images in varying formats and qualities. To ensure consistency, I developed a custom Photoshop action to automate color-space and resolution adjustments. This technical efficiency allowed me to focus on narrative flow rather than manual file prep.

I created a suite of flexible templates to provide visual variety while maintaining project-wide cohesion. These layouts were responsive to the content, adapting seamlessly to either high-impact imagery or dense testimonials. This systematic approach ensured each banner felt unique to the individual story while the exhibit remained a unified visual journey.
