Brief: Create a picture book that subverts traditional mermaid tropes and appeals to children who enjoy whimsical, non-traditional fantasy. The design is intended to be a subtle nod to classic horror films, such as Creature from the Black Lagoon, contrasted by our sweet main character, Naida, and her lovely sunlit swamp, inspired by the Everglades.
